Module 1- Driver Fitness and Wellbeing

This 3.5-hour module focuses on key aspects of driver health and safety. It covers the legal responsibilities around managing driver fitness, the impact of drug and alcohol misuse on health, performance, and safety, as well as the importance of maintaining both personal and physical wellbeing.

Module 2- Drivers Hours and Working Time

This 3.5-hour module is designed to equip drivers with a clear understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time regulations in both the European Union (EU) and Great Britain (GB). Drivers will learn how to accurately record their activities using digital and analogue tachographs, understand the legal framework governing the road transport industry, and recognise the consequences of non-compliance.

Module 3- FORS LoCity

This informative training course empowers delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to support a more sustainable transport industry. By the end of the session, participants will understand the importance of reducing environmental impact and improving air quality. They will learn how to inspect vehicles and utilise in-vehicle technology to minimise emissions, apply fuel-efficient driving techniques, and plan journeys for maximum efficiency. The course also introduces the latest renewable fuel options available for both commercial and passenger vehicles, helping drivers and operators make informed, eco-conscious choices.

Module 4- Managing Abnormal Loads

This engaging 3.5-hour training module equips delegates with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to manage abnormal load movements safely and compliantly. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the differences between Construction and Use regulations, Abnormal Construction and Use, and Abnormal Special Type Load Movements. The course explores the application of STGO movement conditions, focusing on vehicle weight, dimensions, lighting, and marking requirements. Delegates will also learn how to plan routes effectively and submit accurate notifications using the ESDAL system and AIL movement application forms. Additionally, the module ensures that attendees can assess the competence of attendants and escorts, while confirming that escort vehicles are correctly marked and equipped to meet legal standards.

Module 5- Safe Loading

This comprehensive 3.5-hour module provides delegates with the essential awareness needed to ensure safe and compliant load transportation. It covers best practices for securing loads to prevent risk of injury during loading, unloading, or transit, and highlights the importance of adhering to vehicle weight limits, including gross vehicle weight (GVW) and axle restrictions. Delegates will also gain a clear understanding of driver responsibilities in relation to both the vehicle and its load, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations throughout the journey.

Module 6- Security and Counter Terrorism

This 3.5-hour module equips delegates with vital knowledge and awareness to help protect themselves, their vehicles, and the wider public from potential security threats. It explores preventative measures to reduce the risk of vehicle hijacking and theft, particularly where stolen goods may be used to fund terrorist activity. Delegates will also learn how to respond appropriately when witnessing suspicious behaviour or a potential terrorist act, and understand the serious implications of vehicles being used as weapons. The course reinforces the critical role of HGV and PCV drivers in maintaining the safety, security, and legality of their vehicles and loads—safeguarding not only themselves and their colleagues, but also the community.

Module 7- Understanding Fines and Charges

This 3.5-hour module provides delegates with a clear understanding of the legal responsibilities that come with operating in the transport industry. It highlights the financial consequences drivers may face if they breach regulations and offers insight into the legal framework that governs road transport operations. By the end of the session, participants will be better equipped to navigate the rules and avoid costly penalties, ensuring compliance and professionalism in their roles.

Module 8- Vehicle Road Worthiness and Load Security

This 3.5-hour module provides delegates with a clear understanding of the responsibilities involved in maintaining vehicle roadworthiness across all fleet sizes and vehicle types. It ensures that both drivers and operators are fully aware of their legal obligations in relation to fleet safety and compliance. The course also introduces the regulatory framework governing the road transport industry, helping participants to navigate the rules confidently and uphold high standards of operational integrity.
