Module 1- Driver Fitness and Wellbeing (3.5hr)
This 3.5-hour module focuses on key aspects of driver health and safety. It covers the legal responsibilities around managing driver fitness, the impact of drug and alcohol misuse on health, performance, and safety, as well as the importance of maintaining both personal and physical wellbeing.
Module 3- FORS LoCity (3.5hr)
This 3.5-hour course equips delegates with the practical skills and knowledge needed to support a more sustainable transport industry. Participants learn how to reduce environmental impact, improve air quality, inspect vehicles effectively, and use in‑vehicle technology to cut emissions. The session covers fuel‑efficient driving, efficient journey planning, and introduces renewable fuel options for commercial and passenger vehicles, helping drivers and operators make informed, eco‑friendly decisions.
Module 5- Safe Loading (3.5hr)
This 3.5‑hour Load Safety module gives delegates the essential awareness needed to transport loads safely and compliantly. The course covers best‑practice load‑securing methods, the risks associated with poor loading, and the importance of adhering to vehicle weight limits, including GVW and axle restrictions. Delegates also gain a clear understanding of driver responsibilities for both the vehicle and its load, ensuring full compliance throughout every stage of the journey.
Module 7- Understanding Fines and Charges (3.5hr)
This 3.5‑hour module gives delegates a clear understanding of the legal responsibilities involved in road transport operations. It highlights the financial consequences of breaching regulations and explains the legal framework that governs the industry. By the end of the session, participants are better equipped to follow the rules, avoid costly penalties, and maintain professionalism and compliance in their day‑to‑day roles.
FORS Professional Safe Driving (With Virtual Reality) (3.5/7hr)
This immersive VR course is the only FORS‑developed module of its kind, designed to enhance the existing theory session and offered as an optional alternative to the practical on‑cycle element. Delegates experience virtual reality training featuring 20 realistic scenarios across UK urban, rural, and motorway environments, covering vans, HGVs, and PCVs. The module focuses on reducing road risk and protecting vulnerable road users. This course fully aligns with the DVSA Driver CPC syllabus and meets all FORS Approved training objectives, learning outcomes, and performance criteria.
Module 2- Drivers Hours and Working Time (3.5hr)
This 3.5-hour module is designed to equip drivers with a clear understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time regulations in both the European Union (EU) and Great Britain (GB). Drivers will learn how to accurately record their activities using digital and analogue tachographs, understand the legal framework governing the road transport industry, and recognise the consequences of non-compliance.
Module 4- Managing Abnormal Loads (3.5hr)
Our 3.5‑hour Abnormal Loads module gives you the essential knowledge and practical skills to manage abnormal load movements safely and compliantly. The course covers key regulations, STGO requirements, vehicle dimensions, lighting and marking rules, effective route planning, and accurate ESDAL notifications. Delegates also learn how to assess attendants and escorts, ensuring escort vehicles are correctly marked and equipped to meet legal standards.
Module 6- Security and Counter Terrorism (3.5hr)
This 3.5‑hour module gives delegates the vital knowledge needed to protect themselves, their vehicles, and the public from potential security threats. The course covers preventative measures against vehicle hijacking and theft, the risks linked to criminal activity, and how to recognise and respond to suspicious behaviour. Delegates also learn the serious implications of vehicles being used as weapons and the crucial role HGV and PCV drivers play in maintaining safety, security, and legal compliance across every journey.
Module 8- Vehicle Road Worthiness and Load Security (3.5hr)
This 3.5‑hour module gives delegates a clear understanding of the responsibilities involved in maintaining vehicle roadworthiness across all fleet sizes and vehicle types. It ensures both drivers and operators understand their legal obligations around safety and compliance, while introducing the regulatory framework that governs the road transport industry. By the end of the session, participants will feel confident navigating the rules and upholding high standards of operational integrity.
